Lettings Sector Set For A Secure Future In 2011

A UK lettings industry professional has stated that the lettings market will remain stable in 2011.

Director at LandlordZONE.co.uk, Tom Entwistle, suggests that the lettings side of the property market will remain steady for the remainder of the year.

Mr Entwistle predicts that rental costs will not rise in the immediate months, offering expenditure cuts and the VAT rise as reasons for this. Whilst he suggested that mortgage deals are starting to appear more attractive, he also predicted any changes in activity would not be on a large scale.

"There will certainly be some landlords looking to increase their portfolios, but I don't think it is going to be a mad rush," Mr Entwistle commented.

In current market conditions, he recommend a steady, sensbile approach to increasing a rental property portfolio would need to be a "very selective" one.
