Property Portal Seeing Record Traffic In 2011

Only a few days into 2011, a leading property portal has reported a big leap in traffic compared to the same period in the previous year.

Zoopla has reported that during the first four days of January 2011, visitors had increased by 102% compared to the same period last year.

In total, over a million property searches were conducted, at an average rate of over 180 per minute.

Zoopla also reported that inquiry levels are up by a staggering 251% (with vendor appraisal leads up by 258%) compared to the same period last year, equating to over 10 leads per minute, 24 hours per day, currently being sent to its agent and developer members across the UK.

The record figures follow the launch of Zoopla's latest TV campaign on 1 January 2011.

Founder and CEO of Zoopla, Alex Chesterman, commented: “Increased search and inquiry activity via property portals is a good early indicator of market interest and, whilst still very early, the signs so far for 2011 look encouraging. And, of course, we are delighted to be sending record levels of inquiries to our members.”
