2011: The Year To Invest In Buy-To-Let?

A national newspaper has suggested that 2011 could be a year of opportunity for buy-to-let investors.

The Daily Mail reports that high demand for rental properties means those with the capital to invest have the opportunity to take advantage of the market and find themselves a bargain.

However, the newspaper warned prospective landlords of the need to be aware of the risks involved, giving the example of how many people lost out when prices fell after the last housing boom.

Kate Faulkner, from advice site designsonproperty.co.uk, told the newspaper: "This will be a good year to become a landlord."

The variation in house prices across the UK means people need to make property investment decisions carefully, ideally speaking to professional letting agents about the area and the types of property in demand first.
