Treat Tenants The Same As Customers

David Lawrenson, a private rental sector expert, has advised landlords that it is important that they treat their tenants like any other business customer if they are to maintain a positive relationship with them and resolve any issues promptly.

The expert continued, saying that a positive relationship between landlord and tenants relies on an attention to detail, rapidly resolving problems, and a quick response in any communication.

Following a report by mydeposits, Mr Lawrenson comments pick up on the findings. Since August last year, deposit protections have seen a 15% increase, with over 74, 000 lanlords becoming members.

Mr Lawrenson commented, pointing out that deposits can be a major influence to the landlord-tenant relationship, with it being important for those who buy property to let to keep this in mind.

He explained, "If you don't treat tenants like your customers, then they will soon leave and you will have to then be in the business of having to recruit new ones, which takes time and money.”

He concluded stating that in order for landlords to get repeat business through longer tenancies, it is vital to look after those who rent their houses.
